WOCCU (World Council of Credit Union) is a leading international development agency and the union of credit unions throughout the world, whose representative came to Gdańsk & Region for  two site inspections. She held a study visit to Sopot and Gdansk on May 11th - 15th.

World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU) is the global trade association and development agency for credit unions. WOCCU promotes the sustainable development of credit unions and other financial cooperatives around the world to empower people through access to high quality and affordable financial services. WOCCU advocates on behalf of the global credit union system before international organizations and works with national governments to improve legislation and regulation. Its technical assistance programs introduce new tools and technologies to strengthen credit unions' financial performance and increase their outreach

WOCCU conference it's enormous prestige for the city and the entire region. Gdańsk and Sopot has strong competitors among top destinations. This conference is a huge step for Gdansk & Region, which is actively fighting for a strong position among the top business destinations in Europe.
WOCCU previous conferences were held in Barcelona, Hong Kong, Dublin, Rome, Calgary, Brisbane, Nassau, Warsaw (2002), Killarney, Paris and Nashville. At WOCCU Conference 2012, which will be held at the Polish Baltic Philharmonic in Gdansk, we expect 1200 to 2,500 people.  It’s a great opportunity for us, the city, region, for local companies to demonstrate and prove that Gdańsk guarantees professional organization of conferences and its innovative approach to business!
