Welcome to the next training of the series of The Tricity Academy of Business Meeting Organizers organized by the Gdańsk Convention Bureau. The training is addressed to everybody involved in meeting and incentives industry. The theme of trainings is: New trends of destination promotion on the foreign markets.We invited Rob Davidson to be our lecurer. Rob is currently a Senior Lecturer in Events Management at the University of Greenwich, in London, where he teaches and researches business events. His main areas of expertise are conference management and business travel, and over the last ten years he has written widely on these themes. His latest book is “Marketing Destinations and Venues for Conferences, Conventions and Business Events”. In addition, he regularly writes articles for the professional business tourism press, including Conference News. Rob also runs his own consultancy business, and has carried out research for a number of major onference organisations in the UK and overseas. He is regularly invited to speak at international conferences on the theme of trends in business tourism. Since 2002, Rob has been employed as business tourism Industry Analyst by Reed Travel Exhibitions. At EIBTM in Barcelona each year, he launches his annual report on current and future developments in the conference and events industry worldwide: The EIBTM Industry Trends Report. In February 2005, he was nominated Meetings and Incentive Personality of the Year 2005, at the Meetings & Incentive Travel Awards ceremony in London; and each year, for the past five years, he has been included in Conference & Incentive Travel magazine’s ‘Power 50’ – the 50 most influential people in the UK conference industry. Welcome to the next training of the series of The Tricity Academy of Business Meeting Organizers organized by the Gdańsk Convention Bureau which will take place on 9th February 2011 in Gdańsk Hotel in Gdańsk. The theme of trainings is: Lecture: How does glocalisation and globalization affect the meetings industry? Preparing Poland and Gdansk for a larger share of the international meetings market. Workshop: English as a language of conferences, incentive travels, etc. We invited Tom Hulton, Director International Relations IMEX, to be the lecturer. About Tom Hulton:Tom Hulton joined the international advertising agency Ogilvy & Mather in 1970 following a short career in the British army. With O&M, he was based in London and Singapore directing a number of hotel and tourism accounts. He joined Trusthouse Forte Hotels for a period of 8 years as Director of Sales for the Asia Pacific and Middle East. During this time, he was also Director of Sales and Marketing at Grosvenor House Hotel in London. In 1985, Tom Hulton joined Supranational Hotels in London as Managing Director and over a period of seven years, developed this reservation and marketing hotel consortia into the third largest in the world. Following three years as Secretary General of the International Hotel Association based in Paris, he joined the International Congress and Convention Association as Chief Executive Officer based in Amsterdam. In July 2002 and after nearly eight years with ICCA, Tom Hulton decided to return to the UK and set up his own consultancy. He currently works with IMEX as Director of International Relations, with special responsibilities, for helping to raise the political profile of business tourism within Government circles in Europe. Celem Seminarium jest zapoznanie przedstawicieli branży turystycznej z aktualnymi wymaganiami prawnymi dotyczącymi ochrony środowiska i trendami w zakresie rozwiązań ekologicznych stosowanych w sektorze hotelarskim. Uczestnicy Seminarium poznają również możliwości i korzyści wdrożenia systemów zarządzania środowiskowego oraz uzyskiwania oznakowania ekologicznego dla usług hotelarskich. Szczególną uwagą objęte zostaną aspekty pozyskiwania środków na współfinansowanie projektów z zakresu ochrony środowiska w obiektach noclegowych. Seminarium przeprowadzone zostanie przez wybitnych ekspertów i praktyków w dziedzinie ochrony środowiska. To pierwsza inicjatywa szkoleniowa w województwie pomorskim, która ukierunkowana jest tematycznie wyłącznie na potrzeby branży hotelarskiej. Udział w Seminarium jest bezpłatny.
